Smokey the Cat
Cat in devil cape
Date: 06/21/2006
Smokey was four years old when he got this cape. He had never worn any clothing before, and kind of freaked out when we put the cape on. But this picture (of him sitting calmly on the dinner table) was just 10 minutes after. I guess he thought "okay...I've got a cape on...whatever...now give me some dinner".
He's wearing a Devil cape, and the glowing eyes in the picture are perfect!
Sassy the Cat
Angel cape

Super Riley and his Sidekick Homer
based on self-drawn comic book of a 7-year old
Date: 06/21/2006
The story of Super Riley and his Sidekick Homer...
Deena contacted us sometime in July 2005 about a Christmas present for her son:
My son writes comic books based on a character that he invented "Super Riley" (my son is Riley). He illustrates his comic books and they are really cute. I want to get him a "Super Riley" cape with his "Super Riley" logo on it. If I do decide to get one for his stuffed dog, would we be able to do a customized one for it too? (he is the sidekick "Sidekick Homer" in the comics).
She then sent us a crayon drawing of the two logos for Riley and Homer.
Riley told me after Halloween that next year he wants to be Super Riley. He said that we just need to find him a cape. Little does he know!
Based on her drawings, we designed the logos, digitized them, and embroidered them onto capes. We also made a princess cape for her three old daughter...
Thank you so much for the capes! They look wonderful! I know the kids will absolutely LOVE them! They are even better than I could have imagined! Thank you so much for the time and dedication you put into each one of them!

Sir Spencer
Knight cape
Date: 06/16/2006
Sir Spencer's story:
Grandma was writing a children's book with illustrations by several artists. Each of the artists went with their own version of what Sir Spencer and his dragon looked like. None of them were the same. Some dragons were cartoon-like and smiling, while other dragons were realistic and scary. The child reading this book will have to reconcile each artist's version of the characters...a unique idea to challenge any young mind!
This is our version of what Sir Spencer's dragon might have looked like...
Evil Mastermind

We hadn't yet designed the "meaner" pirate when I embroidered this cape...So a happy skull and crossbones with a dark underbelly ...
The skull and the text are done in different colors of glow-in-the-dark thread. When it is dark, they both glow kind of green.

Ben's Robot
based on a tatoo...
Date: 06/16/2006
The story of Ben's Robot:
Ben got a robot tatoo, and his Dad and girlfriend thought it would be cool to get him a matching cape, since Ben was very proud of his tatoo.
We finally got a picture of his robot tattoo (attached) -- we'd like something like this, but it doesn't have to be the same pose, just the same feel.
The tatoo was a little difficult to turn into embroidery from the picture, so Dad came through and designed a robot:
I think the picture was taken at a slight angle, and his shoulder wasn't perfectly flat. I used the photo as a guide and created this drawing to give you another sample.
I think it turned out great! See the next photo for the original tatoo!
Ben's Tatoo
